Finals week has come to an end, collegiettes™ and that means it is officially summer! Whether you are staying in Tampa for the next three months or going home, you should live your summer up. One way to go about this is to make a summer bucket list. So here is a list that we have created to give you ideas for the summer.

1. Have summer weather appropriate clothes. Summer means you can wear dresses for days at a time and no one will say anything. They work well for quick outfits and are easy to use as bikini cover ups. Flips flops are also warm weather friendly and easy to slip on and off.

2. Go to beach as much as possible! During the school year, it can be hard to find times to get with your friends and head to the beach for the day. Over the summer, there are more opportunities to even make full weekend trips to the beach. There will definitely be some traffic, so just be cautious and patient. The beach is not going anywhere.

3. Don’t sleep too much. It can be so tempting to sleep in day after day, but you don’t want to sleep through tanning time. As long as you are not up at a ridiculous hour the night before, make it a goal to get up before 10:30 a.m. This is achievable with a little bit of will power.

4. Go for a picnic. A cute day trip idea is to pack a picnic and go to your favorite outdoor location.

5. Travel. Summer time is a perfect time to travel, especially when airline companies have last minute flights all the time. Visit family or go to a random place with your friends on a low budget. It is not necessarily too late to plan a fun trip, as long as your wallet can handle it.

6.Go somehwere that you have never been before. You don’t have to get too fancy for this one. Somewhere you have never been before can be a restaurant, museum, theme park, or even a random nearby city. Go somewhere you can think back to later as a highlight of summer 2014.

7. Read books. Partying and tanning are two main things people our age do in summer. But one thing that is always good to do is read a nice book. Make a list of books that you have wanted to read or that people have advised you read. A good series to consider is the Divergent series.

8. Go camping. It can be interesting to take time away from society and just enjoy nature by camping with some friends or family.

9. Have a movie marathon. Everybody likes movies! Especially on a rainy day (which there will be many, because it’s Florida). Make a list of all your favorite movies and make some popcorn just like at the actual movies, and enjoy your little homemade movie theater.

10.Learn a new language. You don’t have to be an expert on a new language, but try to learn the basics of a foreign language, like Spanish or French. A good way to do this, if you aren’t registered for a language class at school, is by downloading the app Duolingo. It is an app for your phone so you can take it anywhere and use it whenever you want.

11. HAVE A FANTASTIC SUMMER! You don’t have to do a single thing on this list, but whatever you do just make sure it is fun!
