MUSIC MONDAY: Who is Lola Blanc?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Have you heard of Lola Blanc? If not, you’re about to. You’ll soon recognize the Fremont, Michigan native as the singer of some of your favorite summer hits. Blanc is a singer-songwriter based on our Los Angeles, California. Her perfectly lined cat eyes and fun bright lipstick caught my eye from the second I stumbled across one of her music videos.  Her signature style is best described, both musically and aesthetically, as technicolor pop.

Blanc, who was born in Germany, has mastered her signature retro, glamourous look and her music videos reflect that same style. Always sporting a colorful array of pieces and makeup, Blanc’s style is similar to that of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry with a unique twist. However, her music mixes elements of fantasy and reality with a fun, danceable beat. Blanc isn’t only known for her musical style or fashion choices, she was hand-picked to blog as a taste maker for the pop culture website, Buzznet.

You may recognize her from appearances in music videos for high-profile artists such as Interpol and LMFAO, among others. She’s also been photographed for notable brands including Vera Wang Princess, Make Up For Ever, Hot Topic and Lime Crime Makeup. Having just released her first single “Bad Tattoo,” Blanc is a woman on the rise. With her playful lyrics and bold look, she’s sure to make you take notice.
