Last-minute Spring Break words of wisdom

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Hello, USF collegiettes™!

Excited that midterms are over? I sure am! In just a couple hours, I’ll be heading on a road trip with my sweetie, moseying my way up to Pennsylvania to visit my Dad and checking out some sweet Man Vs. Food hot spots on the way there.

I just wanted to wish you guys a happy and well-needed break from classes and give you some resources to make your spring break more enjoyable.

Still haven’t made any plans? Not enough money to vacation out of state? Don’t sweat it! Her Campus USF has you covered. Check out this article on “Spring break Around Florida: vacations close to home.” From as outlandish as a trip to the Cassadaga spiritualist camp to as close to home as the Dali Museum, Meghan outlines a few fun places you can visit on a tank of gas.

While you’re at it, don’t forget to check out the Spring Break Safety Tips list that covers everything from securing your dorm from theft to how to handle travel and party situations. It seems like common sense until you’re stuck in a bad situation. Prepare yourself for the worst so that you can enjoy the best.

Happy spring break, Bulls! Be safe and have fun!

Daylina Miller is a senior at the University of South Florida studying multimedia journalism and psychology and anticipates graduating spring 2012. She is a member of the national and USF chapter of The Society of Professional Journalists, Bull Bikers' Association, and the Heavy Metal Enthusiasts Club. She currently writes news features for USF's website and is an avid blogger. Her interests include traveling, writing, tarot, paranormal research and photography. She recently enjoyed a travel/study tour to London and various cities in Ireland and plans on backpacking through Europe after graduation. Being a mermaid didn't pan out and paranormal research won't pay her bills so her ultimate goal is to report for a well-respected daily newspaper or magazine as a multimedia journalist.
