We often find in life that our mothers were right about some (okay, most) things and the little black dress is a perfect example of that. LBD is an instant classic that can be worn for endless occasions. Also, it is a great transition outfit from day to night. It can be worn with flats and no jewelry for a simple daytime look, or with stunning stilettos and pearls for a glamorous evening look.
Cardigans
I think of cardigans as sophisticated hoodies. They are super comfortable and come in a large variety, they just look a bit more put together. Cardigans come in different shapes, sizes, fabrics, colors, patterns and cuts. From neutrals like black and white to navy stripes to burgundy, cardigans can add to a classic outfit or throw in a bit of color.
Pearls
Pearls can dress up and add class to almost any outfit – from shorts and a nice top, to a LBD and high heels. We are in college and real pearls come with a hefty price tag, but luckily there are plenty of beautiful replicas! Pearls are timeless and look beauitful in a necklace, bracelet, earrings or ring.

They were a staple during our childhood and teenage years and still are to this day! Simple tees can be dressed down with a pair of shorts, or dressed up with a statement necklace and a pair of nice jeans. Well-Fitted Dark Wash Jeans
Jeans are definitely one of the more challenging things to shop for because they fit each and every person so differently. While finding jeans that fit you perfectly can sometimes be a challenge, it can be easier to find them if you narrow down your selection. Dark wash denim can be worn during the day but also looks fantastic during the night. The cut is totally up to you. Skinny jeans are always popular, but if they are not a favorite of yours, go for a straight-leg or a boot cut!
Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are a great staple for both daytime and nighttime looks. Plus they are literally available everywhere. Whether you want to splurge on a pair from Tory Burch or save on a pair from Target, they are both cute and will last quite a bit of time. You have the option to wear a nude pair or spice it up with a neon color, which can customize any outfit.
Classic Pumps
People often say that you need a pair of classic black pumps in your life, but honestly the color is completely up to you. Personally, I am more of a nude and colorful heel person, and I only wear black pumps unless it is the only option that I have. Regardless, classic pumps are great for an interview, an internship, a date night or a girls’ night out on the town. Unfortunately, high heels are not always the most comfortable option, and if that is the case with your shoes then gel or memory-foam insoles are a great addition.
