Campus Cutie: Herlend Rosier

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Collegiettes! This week, our Campus Cutie, Herlend Rosier has our hearts! Check her out below!

Age: 22 (and blooming still)

Class Standing: Graduating Senior (May 7th, 2016

Major/Minor: Criminology/Women and Gender Studies

Campus Involvement: None unfortunately, but I do like participating in the free events held here at USF such as the Poetry Jam-esque event that was held here at USF hosted by our WGS department in Spring of 2015!

Proudest Accomplishment: Walking in my first runway show here in Tampa at the Ritz Ybor for “Cocktails and Coutour”. Also, getting this far into my undergraduate and not giving up a single time when the stress was crushing me.

Fun Facts: I’ve been a cellist since the age of 12. (I really love music)!

Single/Taken: Super taken for three years now by a wonderful man named Daniel.

Favorite Class Taken at USF: Literature by Women of Color taught by a bomb.com professor, Dr. Rhodrea Mathis (I’m actually currently in it but it’s my favorite)!

What would you tell Freshman: Stay focused, but also take a little time to breath and have fun. Be involved in your University in some way, shape or form and take a Women’s Studies course. I promise you it will help you in more ways than meeting you credit requirements.

Role Models: My mother Merlande (for her strength), Toni Morrison (for her wisdom), K Michelle (for her musical soul) and my friends Latisha, Tiffany V, Deija and Moriah (for being bosses).

Favorite Music/Book/TV/Movie: Favorite Music: Love me some Queen! Book: Midnight Hour Encores. TV: Downton Abbey. Movie: the most recent, Hairspray!

Career Goals: I truly hope to work for the Secret Service one day (maybe if I put it in words it will happen). That’s my career goal. I would also like to be involved in a non-profit organization that works with Human Trafficking victims to rebuild their lives and get them the help they need to live normal lives again.
Pets: One dog, a beautiful Border Collie named Alice. She’s my old lady and heart.
