5 Reasons to Stay In on Black Friday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Want to get sweet deals on Black Friday without going through the trouble of camping outside your favorite store all Thanksgiving night? Let’s face it, you no longer have to. Here’s five reasons you should consider online shopping on Black Friday.

1.   Stores Offer the Same Deals Online: With this option, you can also start buying items days before Black Friday. Some online stores, like Amazon, have Black Friday offers the entire week leading up to the day—who would have known?

You don’t have to worry about getting anywhere before the store opens or being so late that everyone has already snagged all the top products. Go online, surf the web at your leisure and buy whatever your heart desires. Say goodbye to long lines and stressful shopping experiences.

2.   Avoid the Dangers of Black Friday Chaos: Everyone tends to go a little overboard when it comes to Black Friday. Think of all the footage shown on the news of fighting, mobs, families camping outside of stores all night and the unbelievably long traffic. Would you want to be in stores with all those people shoving you, yelling at you and sweating all over you? Trust me, you don’t need all that negativity in your life.

3.   Cyber Monday is the New ‘It’: Cyber Monday is swiftly becoming the one of the biggest shopping days of the year, and it’s clear why—great deals, all from the comfort of your home. Let’s face it, traditional Black Friday is a thing of the past. Everything is going digital, including Black Friday. Why not be a part of the movement?

4.   Don’t Get Fooled: Cheap isn’t always great. Stores might have great deals, but that doesn’t mean the product will last you more than a few weeks. This is when Googling come into play.

By buying online, you get to see different offers at different stores and buy whatever is best for you. This gives you a better, less stressful way of researching prior to purchasing the first deal the store shows you. You can even research the product itself before purchasing to make sure it’s not a rip-off.

5.   Reputable Options: All the best brands are a click away. Stores like Amazon, Kohl’s, Best Buy, Walmart, Target and eBay offer fantastic deals. The internet offers a great variety of products if you’re willing to sit down and look.   Want to eat a snack or watch Netflix while you’re deal-hunting in your pajamas? You can! Everything is at the touch of your fingertips, so who needs to go out on Black Friday? I sure don’t.

In the simplest words: I'm always eager to learn more.  I love doing anything with creativity, hence my majors: English and Advertising/Public Relations. It takes a strong voice to reach people, be it to encourage others buy your product or simply develop an audience. My goal is to be the one leading others and driving the business forward.
