Top 5 Study Songs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USC (AU) chapter.

We all do it: procrastination. Why? Either because we tell ourselves “It’s too hard!” or that we just couldn’t be bothered at that moment to try and start our assignments or do our readings… until the very last minute. But with the help of Her Campus USC AU’s newly recruited Staff Writer: Rhys Hurren, you won’t feel so tempted to procrastinate any longer! Rhys has come up with five awesome songs to get you in the mood for studying!

1. Holdin’ on – Flume

2. Anything could happen – Ellie Goulding

3. Suit & Tie – Justin Timberlake feat. Jay Z

4. Ho Hey – The Lumineers

5. Breezeblocks – Alt. J

Rhys: “These five songs have a really relaxed feel about them; they are great to listen to when trying to relax your mind and focus on something else. House music, although very popular right now and the general alternative rock and pop genres, these types of songs have a tendency to either distract us or create an atmosphere that makes it very hard to focus. Try listening to smooth rap and chill out beats to really let go of your worries and remain completely focussed on the task at hand.”

So next time your about to study, try listening to these songs or anything that can get you focussed! None of you (I know!) want to fail an exam or an assignment because you didn’t study…

Another tip would be to reward yourself for all your hard work, but make sure you don’t overwork yourself. Maybe you could organise a shopping trip or see that movie you’ve been dying to see?

Work hard collegiettes!

Kisses, J
