Going to the University of the Sunshine Coast is one of the best decisions I made. Not only is the uni amazing (and full of kangaroos!) but there’s so many incredible places you can go that are only a short drive or bus ride away.

As exams approach and assignments begin to pile up, it’s time to retreat somewhere to relax – and of course study – and there’s so many wonderful places on the Sunshine Coast you can do that.
The Sunshine Coast is well renowned for its beautiful beaches and Mooloolaba beach is no different. Though it is a hugely popular tourist destination, it’s always easy to find a quiet spot on the sand to lay down your towel and crack out your textbook.
If you’re not a fan of studying in the sun, there’s still plenty of shady spots along the waterfront where you can still enjoy the ocean air and fabulous views.
If you live in Caloundra, Kings Beach is a great spot and is also big on attracting tourists. But if you’d rather a quiet spot during the week try Dickey Beach or Currimundi.
One of the best parts of studying at the beach is that you can jump in the ocean afterwards and enjoy a swim (in between the flags of course!) which is amazing on a hot sunny day.

If swimming isn’t your thing, you can always go for a relaxing walk along the shore or go hunting for seashells. Then when you’re feeling hungry or thirsty, there’s plenty of cafes and food outlets just across the road you can wander over to.
It’s very easy to get to the beach. You can either drive yourself or catch the bus from a number of different places. So why not soak in some sun as well as some facts?
