The Definitive 5 Días Con Nuestra Tierra Bucketlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPRM chapter.

5 Días Con Nuestra Tierra is a once a year experience that we all wait anxiously for. Here are a few of the things that you should most definitely check out before it’s over.

1. Get a henna tattoo (or several!)

They are temporary after all, why not?

2. Check out the new local places to eat, like PanaWest

Selling pana fries with a variety of options for toppings, like hummus and guacamole, they are amazing, and are a must.

3. Beat the heat with a Sabor Limón lemonade

Trendy, iconic, delicious and an Instagram selfie must. Rumor has it, they taste better with a pal.

4. Buy one-of a-kind artesanías from local artists

Beautifully unique and handmade jewelry, clothing and home pieces that you’ll treasure forever; can’t ask for more!

5. Reach peak lechoneo with a stuffed plantain basket from El Platanal

Fried plantains stuffed with chicken, pork or shrimp and topped pico de gallo and mayoketchup make for an absolutely mandatory stop at every 5 Días.

6. Embrace your inner child and take a trip (or several!) on the machines

They’re not as scary as when you were 6 years old, and they’ll make you feel like a kid again.

7. Make some furry friends at the Petting Zoo

Adorable animals that you are able to play with? A dollar well spent.

8. Break your diet with some classic sweets

Ah, yes, an enormous cotton candy is the perfect dessert to help you wash down your alcapurria.

9. Experience at least one non-scheduled event

Also this was not a part of 5 Días, on Wednesday evening there was a silent protest against the reduction in funding that the UPR system is facing, and it seemed worthy of mentioning.
