Now I’m not talking about M. Night Shyamalan’s awful cinematic remake, I mean the fantastic, well-written Nickelodeon TV show. It was a story about adventure, friends, love, growing up, and of course, saving the world. An amazing combination of action, drama and comedy, this television series was a true masterpiece. Those of us who did watch it can remember wishing that we could bend elements and taking online quizzes to see which nation defines us. If you haven’t watched it, here are a few reasons why Avatar the Last Airbender should be your next show to binge watch:
The Storyline is Incredible
The story of how the four nations, (water, earth, fire and air), were once peacefully coexisting until the Fire Nation attacked. The Avatar, a master of all four of the elements, would be able to bring peace but he vanished. But a new Avatar has been discovered by a pair of siblings from the Water Tribe. He now must try and bring balance to the world.
The Characters Are Very Relatable
Many diverse characters of different ages, backgrounds and morals and you’ll find out that you love them all, well maybe not Admiral Zhao, he was a monster.
The Episodes Hold Valuable Lessons
Avatar the Last Airbender can find a creative way to showcase a message within each episode they present.
The FEELS!
This series will definitely leave you sobbing after some of their incredibly emotional episodes. If you’ve already seen the show, you can remember your heart breaking after hearing Iroh sing about his son who died in the war.
Toph
Probably the best character on the show, with her one-liners, sarcasm, and incredible fighting skills. Toph was born blind but that didn’t stop her from becoming a master earthbender. She teaches her audience that looks can be deceiving and to not care what others think.
The Amazing Animation
The art is beautifully created and presented. The movements while the characters are fighting/bending are highly detailed and stunning to watch.
Once you start watching, you won’t be able to stop, and once it’s over, you’ll want to rewatch it again.
