Meet one of HerCampus’ newest staff members: Savanna Young! Young is a fashionable, spunky freshman majoring in interior design with a possible minor in business administration. She is from Omaha, Nebraska where she was a cheerleader, on the DECA team and on the student council at Millard West High School.
HerCampus: What made you decide to join HerCampus?
Savanna Young: “It looked interesting and seemed like a good way to meet fun, new people!”
HC: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
SY: “I was in the Macy’s parade in 7th grade. I twirled baton and my company got invited to go. Sadly, it was freezing and raining, but Jessica Simpson was behind us on a float say that kind of made it worth it!”
HC: What is one thing you are passionate about?
SY: “This might sound weird, but hygiene! It really bothers me when people don’t do anything when they get up in the morning and don’t even brush their teeth! At least look like you attempted a little bit.”
HC: Favorite TV show?
SY: “Probably, Say Yes to the Dress. It’s a great show. I go through phases and I was in a wedding phase a few weeks ago, pretty much have mine a planned out. No big deal.”
HC: Favorite food?
SY: “Honey barbecue boneless chicken with ranch on the side. You can never go wrong.”
HC: What’s one thing you want to do while you are studying at UNL?
SY: “There’s this internship I get to do either my junior or senior year where I am given an old house in one of the close areas and I basically get to ‘flip’ the house, and make it look more sellable. I’m pretty excited for it!”
HC: Finish the sentence: My celebrity crush is…
SY: “… Chris Hemsworth. Even my boyfriend knows about my crush on him.”
HC: Finish the sentence: If I could be doing anything right now I would be…
SY: “…on the beach in some kind of fancy resort preferably drinking a strawberry daiquiri.”
HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years”
SY: “Probably married, maybe with a kid, two dogs, living in a nice little townhouse and working for some firm in Omaha hopefully!”
