Kelley Cipriani, ASOS Brand Ambassador

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNL chapter.

Where are you from?

I’m from Woodbridge, VA. My mother and grandfather attended UNL and I grew up as a Husker fan on the east coast!

What is your major and what year are you?

I’m a senior majoring in fashion merchandising with minors in marketing and art history.

What does being an ASOS brand ambassador entail?

As an ASOS brand ambassador, I coordinate events and social media posts to get students aware and excited about the ASOS brand. ASOS is an online clothing and accessories retailer for both men and women. They are an international brand that is huge in Europe and they have expanded into the US. I use social media to promote events and discount offers and I get to hand out promotional items like branded cups, koozies, discount codes, sunglasses, clothing, bottle openers, headbands, and other items to students across campus.

How did you become a brand ambassador?

I have been an ASOS brand ambassador since August. I got an email from Youth Marketing Connection, who works with ASOS to create the campus brand ambassador program throughout colleges and universities across the country. I then applied for the position and have been working for them ever since!

What’s the coolest thing about being a brand ambassador?

I love being a campus ambassador for ASOS because I get to interact with students and promote a brand that I actually love and wear. ASOS has amazing products that are stylish and fashion forward, and the student discounts are amazing! It is fun to coordinate big events throughout the semester and students always love getting free stuff!

What other activities are you involved in on campus?

I love being involved on campus. I am a member of Delta Delta Delta, Scarlet Guard, NSCS, College of Education and Human Sciences Student Advisory Board, Montage (TMFD student organization), and I am also the Montage representative for the Friends of the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery Board.

I have definitely kept myself busy throughout college but I love being involved in organizations and being able to make a difference in any way on campus. It is also a great way to meet so many amazing people, especially if you are an out-of-state student, like myself.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself working in the fashion industry as a visual merchandiser in 10 years. Fashion and retail have always been my biggest passions in life and I love being able to study what I love in college. The retail industry is an extremely misrepresented and misunderstood industry and I would love to help people realize the enormous potential and power that fashion and retail have throughout all industries.

Three words to describe yourself.

Three words to describe myself would be creative, efficient, and ambitious.
