How to Manage Stress

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNL chapter.

1. Relax

  • Take some time out of your day to find time to relax. I know it sounds cliché, but trust me you need it.

2. Exercise

  • Exercise is scientifically proven to help your body reduce stress as it release endorphins which are natural painkiller and help your body be able to sleep. It doesn’t have to be any crazy workout! Any physical movement will help you start to feel better!

3. SLEEP

  • As much as college kids think they’re invincible, we’re not. We go go go from one thing to the next and then by the time we get around to that mountain of homework, it’s already 11pm. Whether it requires being a little less involved in order to have more time, make the necessary change. Making sleep your new best friend will make incredible changes in your mental and physical health.

4. Find an outlet

  • Having somewhere to go or something to do when you really just need a break is a great way to manage your stress. My personal faves are finding a new craft on Pinterest or going to the closet Target to browse. A mental break will take you far!
