Celebrate International Women’s Day in Lincoln

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNL chapter.

International Women’s Day is on March 8, 2016. How will you celebrate?

There are a few events dedicated to the holiday taking place in the Lincoln area.

Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade retailer located in Lincoln’s Haymarket, is hosting an International Women’s Day Celebration.

The celebration will involve a demonstration by the Lincoln Handweaver’s Guild, an autoharp performance by Marcia Claesson, various dancing performances and food sampling. Participants can also help tie fleece blankets that will be donated to the Friendship Home of Lincoln.

The University of Nebraska – Lincoln will also be recognizing International Women’s Day with a week-long celebration. The week starts on March 13 and continues until March 21. The week’s events involve various luncheons, banquets, a film festival, performances and more!

This is definitely a great opportunity for women all around Lincoln to learn about inspiring women in the community.
