5 Hairstyles That Take 5 Minutes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNL chapter.

Fall is finally here, and this means that the cold weather is setting in. I don’t know about you, but this means I want to get out of bed in the morning that much less. Often times I have no desire to do my hair or even brush it half of the time. I can never think of what to do with my hair, or what is still on trend. These are some of my own personal favorite hairstyles that I use on the daily. So here they are, so you can at least *look* like you actually tried today.

TOP KNOT

This hair style is actually super simple. It can be paired with basically any type of outfit and you will always look fashionable. Simply pull all of your hair back into a high pony. Make sure it’s tight because we don’t want this to fall out. Then rat the hair in your pony and come it out just enough to look a little smoother. Then wrap it around the pony till you form a bun. Pin using bobby pins in places to hold it down and pull it out to make it look how you please. I personally like to leave some pieces sticking out of the bun to make it look a little messier but still put it together.

BRAID AND BUN

Start by braiding the front section of your hair back using any type of braid you wish. Then pull all of your hair up into a pony. Make sure to pull the hair in the pony, and still braided, out. Then begin on the bun. Wrap your bony tail holder around until the last time it can go around and only pull it half way through. Use the extra hairs sticking out in the back and wrap them into the pony tail so you can’t see the pony tail holder.

BRAID AND BALL CAP

This one is about as simply as they come. Simply braid all of your hair back and pull it out a little to make it look a little messier. Find a cute ball cap and put it right over the top. You’re ready to go, and it only took 5 minutes.

PONY AND WRAP

You can’t get much more simple than this hair-do. Pull your hair back tight into a high pony tail. Make sure to spray every piece back. Then take a small piece from underneath your pony tail and wrap it around the pony. Use two pins to pin it in the back, and you’re ready to go!

BRAID BACK TO PONY

Begin by parting your hair straight down the middle. The braid the two front section of your hair back half way. Pull the braids out just a little so they seem fuller and messier. Pull all of the hair back into a pony and rat parts of the pony just enough to make it look more voluminous. (You can also do this hairstyle with only one braid right down the middle. Make sure to still pull parts of the hair out to make it looker fuller).
