Book Review: The Fault in Our Stars by John GreenBy April 3, 2012 - 10:36pm When I first heard of “The Fault in Our Stars,” I initially had no interest in reading another book about cancer and the almost unbearable, lingering sadness that comes along with those stories. Although numerous cancer stories have been told, and become successful novels from that sadness that people are oddly attracted to reading about, I couldn’t help but notice the excessive amount of hype brought about by this book. So I read it! READ MORE |

We see these numbers and think “how sad” but then continue on in our daily lives as if nothing is wrong. We believe it has nothing to do with us and there’s nothing we can do about it. We consider the number but never consider the faces behind the number. So what happens when we look at it from a different perspective, realizing that within the statistic is a person with a true and tragic story? There are more slaves now than ever before. People are being abducted and smuggled into foreign countries for sex trafficking and bonded labor. That “27 million” is more than a statistic. It’s real life.... |

Why I Love Dating A NerdBy February 28, 2012 - 2:42pm After nearly 9 months with my man, I can honestly say I haven’t been happier. He’s sweet, kind, caring, funny and smart.
