By Lottie Staggs
February 10, 2012 - 3:34pm

Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I hope you've been feeling the love the past couple days. As a fellow single lady here at UNI, I'm not about to sit around and mope about not having a special someone to share the day with. Nope, this weekend is calling my name and it is screaming "girls night!" Of course, I always run into the drama of deciding what to wear for such occasion, which inspired me to search for fun outfit ideas. If you need help deciding what to wear this weekend or on Feb 14th, here are some ideas to hopefully spark some creativity within your own wardrobe! These outfits are perfect if you are going out, on a date, or staying in (preferrably with a Channing Tatum movie, sparkling grape juice and a bag of Ghirardelli Chocolates)....

Being a poor college student, it’s hard to always have the money you need to get your special someone huge, elaborate gifts to show how much you love them. Showing your significant other that you care does not have to be expensive! Try some of these budget-friendly options this Valentine’s Day. READ MORE

Campus Cutie: Will Norman

By Bailey Herrstrom
February 7, 2012 - 11:39pm

Valentines day. The thought alone elicits in me a certain gag reflex every February. The chocolate, the teddy bears, the red, pink, and glitter…all sold to men looking to woo his lady on the 14th.  I am not wooed. Love knows no bounds, so why have we bound it to certain day?             If anyone were to know this concept, it would be this week’s campus cutie: Will Norman. Just recently a dating man, this cutie lights up at the very mention of his valentine’s name...now that’s more like it ladies. READ MORE

10 Easy Ways To Improve Your Mood

By Alyssa Hamilton
February 6, 2012 - 8:54pm

Now that this semester is fully underway, the initial excitement to see everyone has subdued and the desire to actually have a purpose in life - aside from lying on the couch watching countless hours of One Tree Hill - has retreated behind hours of homework. I sometimes find myself slipping into a grumpy mood. While working on my psychology homework, I ran into several ways to improve your mood that are free and easy. This led me to see what other ways I could pull myself out of the mid-week slump. Here’s what I found: READ MORE

The Hippinista: Floral Fashion

By Hilary Hinrichs
February 2, 2012 - 7:26pm

I have always wondered why everything goes straight to gloomy and dark during winter? Why not wear florals and brights all year round? I love to keep my florals cycling through every season, no matter the conditions. I joke that I wear the exact same clothes during summer.. only in winter I add the tights. In most cases, it is very true. I had to get more creative since I have found a love for anti-denim jeans. I have never been a fan of jeans growing up because of how low the styles were. I still wore them. Now that I am in college I have stopped wearing jeans although they pop up once in awhile on colder days. It is fun to create different outfits that do not revolve around those denims. READ MORE

By Laura Rasmussen
January 31, 2012 - 3:42pm

This week is bringing the heat! Seeing the snow melt around you and the sun shining brighter than usual is enough to make you believe spring is right around the corner. However, we must remember that it’s only February and, although we don’t feel it now, cold weather is still in the air. So how is a college girl supposed to dress for class in these crazy Iowa conditions? It’s not quite spring, but it’s definitely not feeling like winter either. Here are some fashion tips to keep you warm but not too warm during this time.
