Stages of Moving Home for the Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Moving home for the summer, whether you’ve just finished your freshman year or are planning on making mom and dad your indefinite roommates after graduation, can be just as much of an emotional rollercoaster as was moving into your dorm that very first day…

At first you’re so excited that school is over and your parents are here

But as soon as you drive off campus you realize it’s all over

You get home and your pets missed you a lot so it’s okay now

And who cannot forget how amazing a home cooked meal is?

It’s all cool for the first couple weeks…your parents do your laundry, dishes and cook for you

But then the questions start pouring in…

Are you looking for a job?

Are you going to move out soon?

It’s all fun and games until your parents start giving you rules and a curfew

And then chores you have to do every. single. day

You ignore them and hangout with your friends instead

The summer goes by so fast and you realize you really did nothing productive

And now it’s time to pack everything back up and move back to school for another awesome year

Or maybe you’re still trying to find a job after graduation and so you’re actually not moving out at all

Here’s to a great summer, Wildcats!
