Manuka Honey and Tea Tree Oil Miracle Face Mask

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

I’m no beauty expert, and I’m not brand loyal when it comes to beauty products, but this stuff is amazing

I’ve tried numerous types and brands of face masks over the years. My face is a mix of dry and oily, and have frequent breakouts throughout the semester (mostly from stress). HerCampus gifted us Freeman Beauty clay mask and cleanser samples, so I chose the manuka honey and tea tree oil product to test it out. Believe me when I say, I was not disappointed.

I referred to the packaging for directions and took a peek at the ingredients to see what’s in it. To my delight, there’s actually real honey and tea tree oil in it! The next thing I noticed was that this product isn’t tested on animals. Yay! I truly appreciate companies with humane and natural product development.

Manuka Honey and Tea Tree Oil Clay Mask & Cleanser

This product gives you the option to utilize it as a cleanser or a face mask. I decided to go the mask route to see where it takes me.

The cream itself is smooth and easy to apply. It smells great, refreshing, with a hint of tea tree oil. As soon as I applied the full face, I could feel it working; my skin felt cool and tingly. It’s definitely a clay product – it settled fairly hard and tight on my skin but not crumbly like some other clay masks. I actually left it on a little longer than the recommended 5 minutes because of how refreshing it felt.

The mask washed off smoothly with warm water, and my skin instantly felt open and clean. It’s like my pores could breathe again, and my cheeks and forehead felt soft and rejuvenated. I’ve never used a face mask with such an instant, positive affect. Even hours later my skin was not oily and remained feeling fresh and healthy. I highly recommend using this product before bed since it relaxes your skin like a mini facial.

Beneficial Ingredients

Manuka Honey

Manuka honey is produced in New Zealand from bees which pollinate the manuka bush. Honey has been shown to provide healing effects in many areas due to it’s natural antibacterial qualities. Honey can also stimulate the production of cells to repair infected tissues in the body.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is an essential oil that comes from the leaves of a tree native to Australia. It’s been used as medicine for centuries, and known for it’s natural antibacterial and antiviral properties. Tea tree oil is particularly powerful in fighting acne, proving just as effective as the normal acne medication chemical, benzol peroxide. That being said, tea tree oil is the go-to for all-natural acne relief.

Highly Recommend

Overall, I highly recommend Freeman Beauty’s clay mask/cleanser for moderate to severe oily and breakout-prone skin. It feels amazing by relaxing your skin and battles breakouts with natural healing ingredients.
