Life as a Newly 21 Year Old As Told By The Cast of Jersey Shore

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

21: you’re best birthday and the last one that is usually celebrated. It’s quite the roller coaster and opens the door to so many new things. Some it’s the day you’ve been always waiting for, some it makes no difference and to some it’s just another day on the calendar. None the less it can be one of the most exciting and celebrated days you can have at such a young age (besides weddings, job promotions, and other adult things). It’s quite the life you lead after your 21st birthday and it can be the spark of many, very very interesting storylines and your life just may be a little something like this…

When you’re not turning the irrelevant birthdays of 20 or even worse… 22, the clock strikes 12 AM and a whole new world of oppurtunities have opened up:

When you have a whole new array of environment to tackle with your best girlfriends right along side you. Strap on those heels, wing that eyeline and step into the bar like:

“I’m sure I didn’t spend that much last night, I couldn’t have” *opens up bank account*:

Finally, your other 21 year old friends have someone new to take under their wing. Another to join the crowd, and they scream “can I get a…

So now your 20 year old friends are upset, feeling a tad left out. The glares shine as you go off to the bars or as you order your margarita with dinner..

Let them pout, their time will come.

When your parents suddenly question your every move and members of your family soon think this is all your life will consist of as you live through the twenty first year of life.

But hey, you know what, you can and you will. Responsibly of course. Brunch? Heck yes!

When you had too much fun and danced a little too hard on your first few nights out…

And before you know it, the celebration is over. You’re just another 21 year old just like the rest of the babies born in your year. No biggie, just another birthday, another age and people just don’t seem to care anymore.

But, of course you just reached a major milestone. And life as a newly 21 year old was sure a rollercoaster but a fun, responsible and experience-filled one at that. You’ll always have the memories to look back on of your blessed 21st birthday.

Have fun, stay together and drink responsibly ladies.
