Life has a funny way of making sure you end up exactly where you need to be. Sometimes it can be hard to understand why things happen the way they do, why things that you once thought would last forever suddenly come to an abrupt end. Even after all the hard work you’ve put it, it still feels like it’s never enough to get you where you want to be. However, if there is one lesson I have learned in all my years, it is that something that seems to be a failure might just turn out to be the beginning of your happiness.

Whether it is being rejected from the school you expected to spend the next four years of your life at, or friends you thought would stand next to on your wedding day suddenly aren’t there or you didn’t land that job of your dreams, life can seem to get cloudy for everyone. The hardest thing I’ve had to learn is that some things are just meant to be even if it isn’t how I planned it. The exciting, scariest, and most daunting part of life is that you truly never know.

Life will require you to be fearless, to trust that things will work out. Think about it. Something that happened a month or even years ago seemed like it was the end of the world, yet here you are. Exactly where you need to be. You will meet new people, who will make you realize the value of a true friendship. You will go off to the school you committed to knowing it was your second option, and after just a few months it’ll be what you now refer to as home. There will be other job opportunities and one of those will be your perfect fit.

Whatever you do, do not beat yourself up over things not working out the way you planned. It is life. You are put through traumas and disappoint to test your character, to grow, and to be a better person for tomorrow. This was a bad habit I had to break myself. I feared even chasing opportunity in fear that they wouldn’t work out in my favor, just like the others in the past. Fast forward a few months and I am happier than ever. I have realized that things I thought the world of simply were not meant for me. I now know that I am fine right here because of the best of mine, the best of my life is yet to come.
