NH Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

By Katherine Olszowy

May 11, 2013 - 11:00am
The second annual Susan G. Komen 5k race in Portsmouth is being held on May 11th. This event is more than just a race though. It can be run or walked and participated in as an individual or team effort; more than the distance itself though, this is raising money for all sides of breast cancer. Last year the Portsmouth race rose over $200,000. The incredible part of the Susan G. Komen foundation is that of all the funds raised, 75% of the money stays local to assist women battling breast cancer and the other 25% is invested in research for a cure. The starting goal this year is $50,000 but the HerCampus team is hoping that the women (and men) of UNH will participate and help this great organization surpass its goal....

Coffee For A Cause: The Freedom Cafe

By Eryn Daly

March 2, 2013 - 6:30pm
Last weekend while finishing my last hour of my exhausting morning shift a polite gentlemen came up to me and offered me a cup of chai tea.
