So maybe it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month or even your year but, don’t worry because Netflix will be there for you. Starting January 1, 2015, Netflix will have all ten seasons of the NBC sitcom Friends available for instant streaming. Since you discovered the news, I’m guessing all you fellow Friends fanatics have been living an emotional roller coaster that looks something like this:
Shock:
After all the reboot rumors and that almost reunion on Jimmy Kimmel, you have a hard time believing this. It can’t be real. Do I scream? Do I cry? Maybe I’ll just sit here for a minute. This can’t be happening.
Acceptance:
But this is very real and it IS happening. But you’re handling it well, and remained surprisingly calm. You’re totally fine.
Spread the News:
Maybe calm isn’t the right word. You’ve been tweeting, texting, sharing articles on Facebook, and even having the old fashioned face-to-face conversations. You’re telling anyone who will listen. “Oh, I already told you? Twice? Oops.” So you might be overdoing it. #sorrynotsorry
Celebration:
So now that you’ve told everyone in a five mile radius, it’s time to celebrate. You’re rounding up all the Friends fans you know and discussing favorite characters, quotes, episodes, and seasons. Could you BE any more excited?
Frustration:
This is for the friend who says, “It’s on TV, like, every day.” To the parent who says, “But you’ve seen them all before.” Sure, you may own a season or two on DVD, and seen each episode about seven times, but this is different. No more getting up to switch out the disks or scanning through channels hoping to catch a rerun. It’s all 236 episodes whenever you want them and no commercials. They just don’t understand.
Impatience:
Um, is it 2015 yet? Okay, so it’s only a couple of months away, but still, how do they expect us to wait this long?
Happiness:
In the words of Chandler Bing, “I’m so excited, I may vomit.”
Hang in there, January will be here before you know it.
