5 Books UNH Girls are Reading this Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

With class work and assigned reading, college studetns don’t have much time to read much of anything. But with finals just finishing up, summer is the perfect time to catch up on all the books you’ve been dying to read. And what’s better than laying on the beach with a good book? I asked some fellow Wildcats what they’re looking forward to reading this summer and here’s what they had to say!

1.     The Longest Ride – Nicholas Sparks

Let’s be real, you can’t go wrong with a Nicholas Sparks book. It follows the love story of Sophia Danko, a college senior, a cowboy named Luke. And once you finish the book, the movie’s out in theaters now.

2.     The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest – Stieg Larsson

This is the last book in the Girl with a Dragon Tattoo series. In the book, Lisbeth Salander, a woman with photographic memory, is wrongly accused of murder by a corrupt group in the Swedish Security Service. Journalist, Mikael Blomkvist works to expose this group and free Salander.

3.     Unbroken – Laura Hillenbrand

This is the true story of Louis Zamperini, who was an Olympic athlete who became an airman. He then was taken prisoner during World War II. The novel tells his story of beating all the odds and surviving.

4.     The Royal We – Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

The book is basically the story of Will and Kate, if Kate was an American. In this novel, while attending Oxford, American Rebecca Porter falls in love with Prince Nicholas, the future king of England.

5.     Gone Girl – Gillian Flynn

Amy Dunne goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary to her husband, Nick. Nick swears he’s innocent, but his suspicious behavior makes him the prime suspect as they search for his missing wife.

This is the general account for the University of New Hampshire chapter of Her Campus! HCXO!
