Lipstick can make or break your entire face. Sometimes it’s too bright, sometimes it’s too dark, or maybe the color doesn’t quite fit your skin tone. Trying to master the art of lipstick can be tough but it doesn’t have to be that way with the tips that I have provided.

1. Use chapstick or lip balm before applying the lipstick for smooth lips

It’s getting close to winter and you don’t want to worry about chapped lips

2. Use lip liner as a base but make sure the liner matches up with the lipstick shade

It’s okay to mix-match lip liner with lipstick as long as you’re okay with mixing colors

3. Wear long-lasting lipstick

There are plenty of lip stains to choose from if you need your lipstick to last and not end up on cups or other people

4. Blend shades

The color doesn’t seem to look good on you? No problem! Mix that pink with a purple

5. Add blush

Lipstick can be used as blush. If your face is pale or washed out, use that same lipstick or a powder to add blush

6. Know which shades are compatible with eye shadow

For example: red lipstick looks good with light makeup

Bonus Tip:

Keep Lipstick Off Your Teeth With This Trick

After applying lipstick, take your index finger and put it in your mouth, then pull it out. The excess lipstick will come off on your finger rather than your teeth and you’ll be set to go

With these tips, I’m here to tell you that lipstick can and will work for you as long as you’re willing to experiment. Be bold, try new things and show off your lipstick!
