5 Movies to Watch When Rain Cancels Your Plans

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCG chapter.

April showers may bring May flowers, but April can also bring lots of movie watching. So don’t worry if the rain has canceled your evening plans, because I’m going to give you some great recommendations of my all time favorites movies and movies you might like based on what you’ve already seen! So sit back with your popcorn, snacks, and favorite blanket and just relax!

1. If you liked White Chicks, you’ll like Some like it Hot (1959)

Don’t let the year it was made turn you off! I had to watch this movie in film class, and even though I was never a big fan of black and white movies, this movie really made me laugh! Some old movies are a diamond in the rough.

2. If you liked Princess Protection Program, you’ll like Monte Carlo (2011)

I feel like not too many know this movie because it wasn’t as successful when it came out. But any movie with Selena Gomez in it seems like a good find to me!

3. If you liked Rough Night, you’ll like Weekend at Bernie’s (1989)

When I first saw this movie I was actually laughing so hard I was crying. Not a lot of movies make me do that. That means you should go watch it….like now.

4. If you like The 40-Year-Old Virgin, you’ll like This is 40 (2012)

This is a great movie if you have a bunch of girls over and you are all looking for a comedy. You won’t be disappointed.

5. If you liked Kidnap, you’ll like The Call (2013)

This is for all you guys who like a good thriller. If you are watching either of these two movies, I bet you will be done with that popcorn not even halfway through the movie!

I hope you all get a chance to sit down and watch one of these amazing movies! Especially with exams coming up, don’t be afraid to give yourself a break sometimes and let your mind wander into a great film. I wish you all the best on your exams and happy movie watching! :)
