After being able to spend an awesome weekend with my favorite lady, I’ve taken some time to reflect.

I can recall a time in my life where I would question anything she was telling me as if I knew all the answers at age 13. I would choose to go to a football game with my friends over spending time with her. I would disagree with her just because I could. I’m pleased to say that I’ve grown out of that phase.

I find myself calling her in my free time. I fill her in about the annoying boys in my life, the chicken I burned in the oven, and the small bump in the road that seems to be consuming my thoughts. No matter what the subject be, she offers a laugh, an “I’ve been there”, or an “it’ll be okay”. I’m lucky to have such an understanding Mom who loves me unconditionally.

She’s been through the ringer, she is hands down the strongest woman I know. Being able to watch her survive a stroke and work through all the challenges that came with that, as well as beating breast cancer has proven that I truly couldn’t have a better role model. Every day she shows me how to be a strong, independent woman and I am forever grateful for that.

I’ve got a best friend and a beautiful mother all wrapped into one human and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I hope that I can be as influential in my children’s lives as you have been in mine.

Thanks for being you, Momma

Jordy

P.S. Don’t think I can bring you to Charlotte anytime soon, you stole my thunder… hopefully, I can be a smokin’ hot mom one day!
