Reasons Why You Don’t Want Freshman Year to End

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

You hate the dorm life, but love it

When you first accepted the fact that you had to live in a dorm your freshman year, you were not happy about it. The thought of sharing a room with a total stranger was not appealing at all, and you would do anything not to have to experience it. But really after the first few weeks, you started to enjoy your dorm. It`s a once in a lifetime experience, and there really isn’t anything like it.

We don’t want to grow up

The idea of growing up is both very exciting and absolutely terrifying. It`s something we all want to do, but no one really wants it to happen. We now have to start figuring out what we want to do with the rest of our lives. We are starting to run out of time, and figuring out what you want out of life is becoming more and more important.

You don’t want to leave your friends

You have met your best friends over the last eight months while at school, and the thought of leaving them makes you want to cry your eyes out. Trying to figure out what you going to do without them for the next three months kind of has you freaking out. But, you know you will be constantly texting and calling them informing them on everything going on in your life.

Easy classes

Everyone always tells you that college is a lot of work, but that the classes aren’t that hard. And even though you hear it, you don’t really listen. You still freak out about the fact that you are going to school, and think it is going to be extremely hard and different. Well, you should really listen to the people telling you not to worry because freshman year classes are so easy, and they are just going to get harder from here on out.

We have to go home

As hard as it is to admit it, home is now at college. You never thought eight months ago while moving in that you would miss this place. Now you can`t believe that you have to leave. This is now where your life is and where all of your friends are. Not that you don’t have friends or a life at home, but at college they are just different.

We don’t want to move all of our things out

You thought that you had a lot of stuff when you were moving in? Well now you probably have at least five times more things in your room that you have acquired over the last year. And, its going to take you at least five times longer to pack it up, load up your car, and un-load it when you get home.

Our roommates/hall buddies

Some of your best friends in college are the girls that are in your hall, or maybe even your roommate. You see them everyday, and when you need anything they are always there. It`s like a sleepover everyday of the week. You will most definitely miss living next to your best friends.
