Kitten Heels: Your Perfect Accessory

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

If you’re anything like me, I hate wearing heels.

To me, they’re super uncomfortable. Especially if I’m standing for more than a few hours.

Either my feet are numb or I just want to cry.

But, I do love the added style points I get from wearing heels. Whether it’s a pair of dress pants, a cute skirt or a your favorite dress, a pair of these will polish any outfit, no questions asked.

So, what can we wear that’s the best of both worlds — cute, but also comfortable?

A: Kitten heels.

They’re one to two inches of glamour and style, sans the blisters and (at times, excruciating) pain of pumps.

See below for this season’s best (and a few of my favorite) pairs:

“Sophie” Pump

Like a combination of animal print and polka dots, this is a festive look. Plus, the neutral shade will go with everything.

Half d’Orsay Silk Pump

You can never go wrong with a pair of red heels: classic, yet it adds a pop of color to your outfit.

“Pearl” Bootie

These booties are perfect for fall. Pair them with a warm sweater and jeans for a casual lunch or a wool skirt for a night out.

“Rome” Pointy Toe Pump

This abstract print is cool and different; I’d wear these with my favorite pair of overalls!

Tartan Pump

These shoes are arguably my favorite of the bunch: cute, but the perfect statement piece for any fall look.

"Sam I am," and I LOVE to read. Whether it's Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" or The Mortal Instruments series, I'm always reading. And when I'm not reading, I'm writing; English papers, magazine editorials, you name it! Italian food is my favorite, shoe shopping is my addiction, and I hate cold weather. I'm also a proud member of Slytherin house (we're not all bad, I swear).
