Get Into the Holiday Spirit With These Seasonal Activities

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

The holiday season is in full effect now. It may be hard to feel festive though with finals looming in the near future. In order to de-stress and get in the holiday spirit I have a list of festive activities that will be sure to have you feeling jolly.

1. Ice skating

A great activity to do with friends or family, ice skating is fun for all. There are ice skating rinks popping up all over the country. This is a very budget friendly activity which is perfect for us college students.

2. Watching Christmas movies

Who does not love a good movie night? Movie nights are a perfect way to de-stress and they are free. Just log onto Netflix and pull up all the Christmas movies they just added. Grab your friends, snacks and blankets and the perfect movie night is underway.

3. Decorating

Get in the season by decorating your dorm, apartment, or back at home. Putting up lights, tinsel and a tree are a great way to get into the spirit. Holiday decorations can be found at any local store for a reasonable price. If your living space is in the spirit you will be too!

4. Baking treats

I love baking cookies for the holidays. There are some great recipes out there for holiday treats. You can look on Pinterest for some ideas.

5. Spending time with family and friends

This is essential for relieving stress after the semester. You can have time relaxing with the people closest to you. Enjoying time at home can be the greatest reliever. This will allow you to start fresh when the next semester rolls around.
