The snow is starting to melt and the sun is finally shining, which can only mean one thing: Spring is almost here! Aside from spring break and the fact that this semester is half over, there are so many more things to be excited about in Chicago. Here are some of Chicago’s marvelous spring events that we collegiettes don’t have to wear Eskimo gear to attend.

Peace on Earth Film Festival

This event takes place March 7-10, 2013 at the Chicago Cultural Center. According to their official website, “Peace On Earth Film Festival (POEFF) is a not-for-profit festival established to celebrate and encourage the work of independent filmmakers from around the world on the themes of peace, nonviolence, social justice and eco-balance.” Come see some amazing, one-of a-kind films for free!

Red Mango Opening
Celebrate warm weather by going to the new Red Mango on Halsted in Greek Town! It’s opening soon, just in time for spring, which is a perfect way to celebrate. It’s about time the west loop had a frozen yogurt place open up.

Spring Flower Show
I really can’t think of a better way to celebrate spring than gazing at tulips, azaleas, and lilies. Every day from 9am-5pm from now until May 12th, the Lincoln Park Conservatory Flower Show will be in session. Go get your eye candy fix before it’s over!

Adler After Dark
Every Thursday in the month of March the Adler Planetarium from 6:30-10:30 turns into a 21+ exploration with drink specials and food! Sounds awesome to me. There’s only 3 days left to go this month! Get all your friends together and go soon!

Salsa Wednesdays
Starting Wednesday, March 13th and going through October 15th, 2013, head over to Cuna on Belmont Ave and learn how to salsa dance for free. They also offer tons of food and drink specials on salsa night as well!
