Halloween Activities

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

Halloween is upon us!  It’s the one holiday that we can dress like crazies, act like crazies, and get away with it without being called a crazy. Whilst it seems like all the fun with haunted houses and festivals are back in the suburbs, there is plenty to do in the city of Chicago. I have researched some of the best for you to check out.

Chicago Haunt Tour
Sign up by email. Go to their website chicagohaunttour.com, register, and you will get emails regarding where do go and the dates that you can participate. On this supernatural tour you will first mingle with other participants at a haunted restaurant, then you will jump in a tour bus that will feature classic scary movies. The bus will bring you around to three of the best haunted houses near the Chicagoland area, along with three other fun and haunted locations. At all places you will receive VIP entrance, so no waiting in ridiculously long lines!

Chicago Supernatural Tour
This tour brings you around to only Chicago locations. Chicago is a more haunted place than you could ever imagine, and this tour will show you just that. You may never look at Chicago the same, so beware. It is even lead by the famous ghost hunter, Richard T. Crowe. Dates and location are as follows:
7 p.m.-11 p.m. Oct. 14,15,21,22,28,29,30,31
Goose Island Beer Co. 1800 N. Clybourn

If you are someone who is a bit short on cash (a.k.a. college students) then Chicagoween is for you. It takes place at the Daley Plaza or rather “Franken Plaza.”  There is the coolest show that takes place at the festival, The Midnight Circus, and the admission is FREE! Other activities include a pumpkin decoration contest and the farmers market. The exact dates are TBA, but it usually occurs at the end of October.

And of course there is the celebration occurring at Navy Pier from October 14-30. Many different activities will be going on including an all day dance party, street performers, and Fireworks on Saturday at 9 p.m.
