This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

Back to School: Fashion 101 from a stylish, self-proclaimed fashionista!

It’s that time of year again! We’re all back on campus and ready for classes! Before I begin, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Bianca Pearson and I am a rising second year student here at UIC. I recently have been super addicted to the latest fashion trends and simply have a passion for fashion! Follow this weekly fashion blog for my latest insight.

Just like any first day of class I was super nervous about what to wear. Some of you may be taking Spanish 101, or French 101, but here you will all be taking Fashion 101! If picking out school attire isn’t your thing– I am here to help! Lucky for you, I spent my entire summer following blogs and shopping at numerous new stores. Can’t wait to share with you all!

What to know about trends:

Trends are your friends. Please use them wisely and pay attention to what people have been showing off. Basics are a must. When I say basics I’m talking about v-necks, comfortable tanks, and shorts. I have found that the most perfect place to find these items for a cheap buy is at H&M! If you are wanting to spend a little bit more money, J. Crew is where it is all at. Now you may think this look is plain, well that is why you accessorize accessorize accessorize! Gold jewelry is definitely in right now. A hint of cheetah print will always spruce up your causal outfit! Now, I don’t want to give away all my little tips right away but make sure when you are putting together your new outfit for school. A little friendly reminder: DO NOT WEAR white jeans. After Labor Day, you can no longer wear this item, so please don’t.

Until next time,

Bianca
