Being healthy is a priority for a lot of us, but it’s harder than it seems. Sometimes our food and beauty products are packed with harsh chemicals that are bad for our body- inside and out. The best thing to have in your kitchen and medicine cabinet is a jar of virgin coconut oil. This basically is the equivalent of a magic potion, and it’s insanely affordable. There are countless uses for coconut oil, which eliminates the need for several expensive beauty products.

Trader Joe’s Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: $7

Use for: Eye makeup remover
It may seem a little weird rubbing oil on your eyes, but a little goes a long way. The interesting thing about coconut oil is it becomes a solid at room temperature, so it’s a lot easier to gauge how much you’re using. You can always pop the jar in the microwave for thirty seconds to bring it back to a liquid consistency.  Just dab a little on a cotton ball and use it to get rid of your raccoon eyes!

Compared to Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover: $8

Use for: Hair deep treatment
If you’re guilty of putting heat on your hair way too often, your hair is probably desperate for some moisture. Instead of spending money on conditioning treatments (that are usually packed with chemicals, alcohol, and sulfates), just lather your hair with coconut oil every night. Coconut oil also accelerates hair growth, so that’s an added plus.
