Libbi StanderwickBy February 27, 2012 - 4:11pm This week’s Her Campus Celebrity is Libbi Standerwick, a blue eyed junior who works at a dental office in Lincoln Park. This celeb is the biggest self-proclaimed Sox fan, enjoys Disney World more than anything (and can’t wait to return), and also delights in a fresh load of laundry. She idolizes runners for their strength, and is an avid volunteer at marathons. Her taste in music revolves around Lil Wayne, and her pastimes include napping, napping, and more napping. She recently starred in Tim Blewitt's, Evangeline, a small production here at UIC, and when she's not spending long hours at rehearsal she is busy working at the LA Tan on Taylor (visit her!). Vesna MitrovicBy February 20, 2012 - 12:09am Vesna Mitrovi? is a Communication major, a Philosophy minor and a member of the Serbian Student Organization at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Aside from being a college student, Vesna spends her time fulfilling another role: being an artist. Vesna appreciates all forms of art, but focuses on sketching very realistic drawings, otherwise known as photorealism. She prefers creating objective drawings of scenery and landscapes, but also engages in subjective drawing. Her primary medium is pencil for creating black and white drawings. However, when working on scenery or landscape drawings, she uses colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic and/or oil. READ MORE |

Matthew SobczakBy January 29, 2012 - 7:34pm Matthew Sobczak is a very ambitious person who has the goal of one day climbing Mount Everest by the age 35. He says, “I mean what's the point of living if you end up dying regretting not fulfilling life's biggest risks, challenges, and rewards? Yeah I have a 1/4 chance of death and high chance of frostbite, I just have to say my personal motto "you only live once, no regrets." Matthew is pursuing degree in Communications. He explains, “I pursued it mainly because I love being creative yet communications allows for a structured environment... and let's be honest I can't do math or science for the life of me, Finance was a bad start.” After graduation, he hopes to get a Public Relations job in Chicago but he says he wouldn’t mind... |

Niketha D’SouzaBy January 22, 2012 - 11:06pm Niketha D’Souza is majoring in English with a concentration in poetry. She wants to go to grad school for occupational therapy. She says, “I worked in a rehab healthcare facility for seven years starting when I was a sophomore in high school. I grew fond of being around the disabled residents and after spending time with some OTs.” She got the job there thanks to the help of her mom’s friend. Later, she worked with residents in the activity department and assisted in exercise and one-on-one for those residents who were bed ridden. READ MORE |

Eduardo MujicaBy November 28, 2011 - 12:44am Eduardo Mujica is the first in his family to graduate high school and go to college. This May he will graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship. His home town is Belvidere Illinois, which is small town outside Rockford. After college he plans to stay in the Chicago to start his career. Eduardo’s dream is to one day own his own brewery business. When he was old enough, he started to visit breweries. He says, “My interest in home brewing started in college. I became tired of all the light beer that lacked flavor and character.” He plans to get a job in management and save money for his business. He says he first wants to make a business plan before starting his business. ... |
