UIC Life
Local or Commuter?
Local. My apartment’s located in Little Italy!
What are you involved with on campus?
I’m a research assistant at the UIC Center for Structural Biology.
What is your favorite thing about UIC?
UIC’s campus is close to the city and I love the city. Whenever I’m stressed out, I just head to the city for a breather or to shop or sightsee, etc. Also, the people around this area are chill and those are the type of people that I like.
What is your least favorite thing about UIC?
Well, this is an easy answer: the weather. This winter was especially long and horrible.
Where is your favorite place to eat around at UIC?
I don’t really have a single favorite place. Ichiban’s sushi is amazing, but I’ve also had the best burger of my life at Davanti. Seriously, you need to try it!
What are your plans after graduation?
I may or may not take a year off before moving onto medical school, studying for the MCAT and what not.
Fun Facts
What are your New Years resolutions for 2014?
I’m trying super hard to quit saying the phrase, “That’s gay” because well, it’s insulting. Also, I drink a lot of bottled water because I hate Chicago’s tap water so I’m trying to recycle more often.
If you were a fruit, what would you be and why?
I’d be a strawberry because they’re awesome during the summer, but they suck during the winter. That’s basically me.
What is your biggest fear?
Worms. I’m not scared of heights, spiders, or anything like that, but I’m TERRIFIED of worms. Anything that crawls and looks like worms count too, except babies haha.
If you were born in any decade what decade would you choose and why?
I think I belong in this decade, based on how I dress. People can dress however they want in this decade and I don’t really follow any trends. I’ve often been told that I dress like a hipster? It’s completely untrue. I just like wearing comfy clothes that aren’t sweat pants or yoga pants and I think this decade’s fashion has morphed comfort with image.
If you were immortal for a day what would you do?
I’d probably do as many adventurous activities as I could. Skydiving, rock climbing, scuba diving and bungee jumping are definitely at the top of the list.
Favorite quote?
“An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it’s going to launch you into something great. So just focus and keep aiming.”
What is one interested fact about you?
I’ve never sprained or broken a bone in my body, which is surprising because I’m really clumsy.
How would your friends describe you in 3 words?
Simple, fun, and caring

Taken
Who is your celebrity crush?
Ryan Reynolds, hands down.
What is your deal-maker?
If you can make me laugh, you’ve earned a lot of points with me, but if you can also comfortably have a deep conversation with me, you’ve got yourself a deal. I love guys that I can picture as my best friend if we weren’t dating.
What is your deal-breaker?
If you don’t have any future goals or you “don’t give a fuck” about life, goodbye.
What would your dream date be like?
Like I said, I’m pretty simple. Something along the lines of a cute candlelit dinner on a boat would be great and it’s not even that extravagant.
If you have a song to describe your love life, what would it be?
Such a cheesy question. I pick “National Anthem” by Lana Del Rey. The song makes it seem as though the girl is a badass, but is one who loves unconditionally.
