Are You Getting a Good Night’s Sleep Tonight?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

As college students, sleep is something you probably don’t get enough of.  Well this winter don’t forget that a good night’s sleep helps keep the flu away.  A study showed that if you sleep less than seven hours a day you are more prone to the flu as opposed to those who sleep at least eight or nine hours. Sleep helps strengthen your immune system. It helps to replenish your cells and your fatigued muscles. A study found in Sleep journal states that women who slept at least five to nine hours were at less risk of mortality than those who slept very little. With Christmas break on the way, take some time out and catch up on your sleep.
