It’s a new school year which means new events and things to do in this wonderful city. Chicago definitely does not disappoint this year, so be sure to check out some of these great events!
Lakeview Taco Fest
September 21-22, 12pm-10pm
Start the first day of fall with some delicious tacos. There will be over 6 different Chicago area vendors as well as beer pairings for each taco. Tacos and beer? I’d say it’s the perfect way to start the season. This fest is on Southport between Addison & Newport, don’t miss it!
Oktoberfest Chicago
September 27 at 5pm to September 29
This fest is everything German; beer, brats, music. Sounds like a great time. This fest takes place on Southport and Lincoln Ave, and this will be its 13th year. For a $5 donation you can see free live music and enjoy a taste of everything “Oktober”. Another new thing to this years’ fest is craft beer tasting from around the country.
City Made Fest
September 21-22, 12pm-9pm
Maybe after grabbing a taco in Lakeview, you can head over to this fest to buy some homemade art, beer, and countless other things made by Chicagoans. The fest suggests a $5 donation to attend, and with that you can see as many live performers as your heart desires. Located on Clark street between Argyle & Carmen!
Vintage Garage Chicago
October 20, 9am
I cannot wait for this festival. Located in uptown, this fest is everything vintage, from jewelry to furniture to art. There are over 100 vendors as well as live music and food. For more information visit their website at http://www.vintagegaragechicago.com/
Hyde Park Jazz Festival
September 28, 1pm
This fest takes place in Midway Plaisance Park and features over 150 musicians. The best part: its free! If you can’t wait until next summer to see free shows at Millennium Park, then head over to Hyde Park to hear jazz in the fall!
