10 Things You Need To Hear In Your 20’s

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

Ah, your twenties…what a time to be alive, right? Honestly though in some aspects, not really. Unavoidably, these are the years when you may feel the most stressed, most heartbroken, most confused, and most anxious. But in light of this situation, these are also the years when you are the most motivated, most creative, most excited, and most happy. Rest assured, there is a way to get through this emotional rollercoaster no matter which side of this decade’s spectrum you fall under. See below just a few words of wisdom and guidance that have helped me through almost every inevitable twenty-something situation. Cheers!

1. For when you feel alone

“How you are feeling right now, it’s not forever.”

2. For when you think you aren’t good enough

“Your value does not decrease due to someone’s inability to see your worth.”

3. For when a time, place, person, etc. is just too confusing

“Be optimistic and try to gain perspective.”

4. For when you run into a familiar face after a long time

“Be grateful for having met and learned from the experiences you’ve shared.”

5. For when you feel scared or pressured

“Don’t let a small fear, get the best of your day.”

6. For when you go through a breakup

“Just because you loved someone, that doesn’t mean they are right for you.”

7. For when you feel motivated

“Make today count.”

8. For when you encounter life-changing experiences

“Life isn’t about what you get. It’s about what you give.”

9. For when you realize your passions and ambitions

“Pursue the things that you want by doing what you love and loving what you do.”

10. For when you realize you are at your happiest

“Remember this feeling, cherish every second of it, and share it with the world.”
