Tips to Get An Energy Boost in the Morning Without Caffeine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

When you hear the loud, obnoxious sound of your alarm in the morning, the last thing you want to do is to get up. You may have hit the snooze a couple of times, but you know you have to get up out of bed eventually to start your day. You walk around sluggishly in the morning wishing you were back in bed. You obviously need a pick me up. Instead of reaching for the closest form of caffeine you can find, try one of these tips to get energized easier and healthier in the morning.

After you wake up, try stretching. It will make you feel more awake and will feel good. A good thing about this is you can do this in the comfort of your own bedroom, so you don’t have to put too much effort into it. If you want to take it a step further and feel even more energized, try exercising in the morning. You will definitely feel more awake and kick start your day.

Staying in the dark will only make you want to go to sleep more, so open the blinds and let in some natural light after you wake up. It’ll give you nice lighting to get ready while making you feel more awake and let your body know it’s time to get up.

Drinking water and eating breakfast will give you the energy you need to be productive in the morning. Many people skip breakfast and opt for coffee instead, but eating a breakfast will give you energy you need and make you feel good.

A fun way to wake up and stay up is by turning on music. Listening to music can increase your mood and get those endorphins flowing. You can even take it a step further and dance. Dancing in the morning can be super fun and will energize you, so you can feel great.

Lastly, try having an incentive to getting up and being productive. If you think of a nice treat to have later or something that’s going on later in the day, it might make you want to get up and start your day. You’ll be more energized due to the exciting incentive you have.
