We’ve all been taught from a young age that self perception is an important part of how we interact with the world. Sometimes, it’s difficult to realize many little things can contribute to how you feel about yourself. Something as small as dressing nice for class or making the extra effort to hit the gym can lead to profound positive effects on your every day life and happiness and on your relationships with others.
1. Elevated Self Confidence
When you start making the effort to care about the types of food you put into your body and start actually going to the gym to finally work off that Freshman 15 lbs, your perception of self begins to change and you begin to feel more energized and productive. Although, it is importance to recognize that you want to eat healthy for you and not out of comparision of others. It’s important to want to be the best version of yourself and recognize that it may look differently than someone else’s best version.
2. More of a Positive Mentality
Working out in itself releases good endorphins that make you feel happy and is a constructive way to deal with the stresses of life. These feelings of productiveness and happiness you get can easily be translated into better moods and a more positive outlook on life. Having a more positive outlook on life can lower stress levels and reduce anxiety and even increase your life span!
3. Having Healthier Relationships
By constantly having a postive outlook on life, your relationships will benefit in great ways. You won’t assume the worst out of people or engage in pointless arguments. Healthier relationships can lead to you gaining more lasting friendships and more meaningful friendships.
Think about what self care means for you!
