Gator Glam: 6 November Favorites

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

November is a month for change. While everyone is kicking into gear for the holidays, November is also the month when the weather starts to get a tad bit cooler and your clothing pieces, makeup items and products tend to change to match the temperature. Recently, I have bought some new products from The Oaks Mall right here in Gainesville and other stores in the area. Some weren’t a favorite for me, and some I have absolutely fallen in love with. Here are just a few of my go-to products for the month of November.

1. CVS Facial Cleansing Power Brush
If you don’t know about this amazing product, it is an electric dual-speed cleansing brush that’s made to exfoliate your skin and remove dirt, oil and makeup, leaving your skin super soft. This is a knockoff version of the more expensive brand, Clarisonic, but surprisingly it works just as well, and it has been my absolute favorite product this month. I have been using this brush two times a day and have noticed tremendous results. This brush is perfect and works for people with oily, acne-prone skin skin and people with dark marks. The best thing about this brush is that it is only $19.99 at CVS. If you haven’t purchased one already, I suggest that you get it soon because this is definitely a November must-have.

2. Shea Moisture’s African Black Soap
My face has always had a tendency to get a bit drier during the cooler months, so it is always great to eliminate dryness and breakouts during the season. I purchased this facial soap a couple of weeks ago, and it has been my favorite ever since. This black soap is designed to cleanse, hydrate, moisturize and calm problematic skin. Best of all, the ingredients are 100 percent natural, including African shea butter, aloe, palm ash, vitamin E and a variety of essential blended oils. I also use this black soap twice a day with my facial cleansing power brush for a deeper clean. You can pick this product up at Target for just $4.

3. Frosted Cranberry Bath & Body Works Candle
While at the mall, I always stop by Bath & Body Works to catch their amazing deals on candles. Frosted cranberry has become my all-time favorite candle from this store. I purchased the three-wicked jar candle from the White Barn Collection, and the smell is amazing. It smells exactly like sautéed sugared cranberries — sweet, fresh and clean. The jar is a decent size, so it will last you a pretty long time. If you’re a fan of this store and scents like this, then this candle should be your next buy this November.

4. ColourPop Ultra Matte Lipstick (Colors: Lax and Be-Dazzled)
I have been loving this online cosmetic company for a while, but I just fell in love with these two specific colors this month. Both are very dark colors that are great for the fall season. What I love most about these products is that they dry to a matte finish, making these lipsticks impossible to come off easily. You can drink and eat with this lipstick on and not worry about having to reapply because they stay on all day long. This company has tons of colors that are great for all skin tones and are only $5 a piece on their website.

5. Knit Army Green Cardigan
I’m a very small girl who continuously gets cold, whether it be in my classes, on the RTS bus or outside. That’s why this cardigan is my go-to sweater almost every day. The material is very soft with long sleeves to keep me warm throughout my extremely long day of classes. It will be the perfect clothing item when the temperature starts to drop (whenever that will be). You can purchase this item online through my favorite website, sheinside.com, and it’s currently $26.

6. Light Blue (Dolce and Gabbana)
I am obsessed with this perfume! This is probably my overall favorite product for the month of November. Most say that this is a summer fragrance, but there is no stopping me, as I wear it for every season. It’s very light, refreshing and it has been my go-to perfume for a while now. You can snag this perfume almost anywhere, from Sephora andTarget to CVS. It runs from $34-$95 depending on the size of the bottle. This is another scent that’s a definite must-have this month.

There are a lot of other items I have purchased that I really enjoy as well, but these were just a few items I have been loving this month and season. Since Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner, these would be great gift ideas to purchase for close friends and family members. I hope you have a chance to try out each of these products because you won’t regret it. Happy shopping!
