Somehow we have decided as a generation to include these words into a dictionary of insults and putdowns between groups of friends, or to people we don’t even know. Now we tell people that it is an insult to be linked to groups of people whether they are homosexual or have disabilities such as Down’s syndrome and Autism. But it should not be socially recognized as an insult or offense to be linked to these groups, because if you knew anything about “those people” you would know their immense kindness and ability to overcome hatred while still keeping an open heart. College Fashion Week Santa Barbara Recap

On October 20, 2012, Her Campus ended their College Fashion Week nationwide tour with a West Coast finale here in sunny Santa Barbara. The HC College Fashion Week Fashion Show was held at the Carrillo Recreation Center in downtown Santa Barbara, where the entire center was transformed to have a NYC night club vibe centered around the runway. Tons of collegiates and Her Campus supporters lined the doors to watch UCSB students strut their stuff on the runway. Windsor Hanger, the President, publisher, and co-founder of HerCampus, emceed the event, and promoted the theme of the fashion show for collegiates everywhere to “Upgrade Your Life!” READ MORE
