Donni Charm Scarves Take Over College Campuses

Saturday, January 23, 2010

We all know it can sometimes be a challenge to dress fashionably during the winter because we are forced to wear clothes other than jean shorts, flip flops, and a bikini! Yes, even though we are spoiled in Santa Barbara with amazing beach weather, we do have chilly days when warm clothes are necessary.

Thankfully for us, a new trend is taking over our campus...Donni Charm scarves! Donni Charm is a brand started by college students at the University of Arizona and they have found great success all over the nation, but especially at UCSB. The two lovely ladies behind the adorable scarves have hosted multiple sales and fundraisers on our campus, promoting their scarves.

The scarves' signature accents are various charms—angel wings, peace signs, and even a buddha. Created upon good intentions, the student designers began their business in memory of one of their fathers, and could have never imagined the popularity that would eventually surround the practical accessory. Celebs such as Jessica Biel have been spotted wearing the unique scarves and if she snagged Justin Timberlake, maybe we should all start wearing the scarves?! But more importantly, students in our very own Isla Vista have been sporting Donni Charm scarves in town and on campus, and they are bound to keep us looking hot in the cold winter weather!

Personally, I really think they are hard to wear. I prefer to wear my jewelry on my body, not my scarf. I'm glad you're profiling this company tho!
