What: Relay for Life
When: May 12, 12:00pm
Where: Drake track

Those of you who went to Dance Marathon are probably craving some more day-long charity by now. Those of you who didn't go are straight up deprived. If you can make it until May 12, Relay Life will remedy your problems just in time. This charity was definitely one of my favorite moments of last year's Spring Quarter. It's a 24 hour event that raises money and awareness for cancer research. Besides spending time with friends outside in the beautiful LA weather, I was touched more than I ever anticipated. It's about to get real cheesy in here - bear with me for a second - but the luminaria ceremony with testimonials from fellow Bruins touched by cancer brought tears to the eyes of all of us on that track. I even learned the touching story of a floor mate who survived cancer as a young girl. You'll be touched, but most of the time, you'll be happy, honoring all the birthdays that have been celebrated thanks to cancer research. There will be plenty to do around the track and a great vibe, but in the unlikely circumstance that that's not enough, performances such as a cappella groups and dancers will be there to keep you entertained. If I had to recommend one event at UCLA, this would be it. So sign up if you haven't! I highly recommend raising the recommended$100 - you'll get a tshirt and a meal at the event.
