Recording of Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech at UCLA found

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Take a close look at the picture.

Does the background look familiar? This is Martin Luther King Jr. on Janss Steps when he spoke to assembed UCLA students, faculty, staff, and alumni almost 50 years ago. The recording of this momentous speech, after the victorious march from Selma to Montgomery, was lost but was recently found by Derek Bolin, a UCLA graduate working as a contract archivist for the Communications Department. The discovery comes at a perfect time as we will be celebrating his national holiday on Monday. To read more and listen to the audio, check out the UCLA Newsroom
