While it’s an easy way to get all the physical goodies of a relationship, it also requires that both parties reject the emotional attachment that comes along with a committed relationship. Last Quarter Blues (and Yellow)By May 11, 2013 - 8:41pm Midterms are winding down and talk of finals has begun. Yes, it’s that time of the quarter again, only this time instead of making plans for next quarter that’s right around the corner we’re making plans for the seemingly endless summer that lies ahead. As this quarter decelerates to an end, I will be looking back more and more on the amazing year that I have had in California. The year seems to have gone by at light speed and I am so sad when I consider the prospect of leaving UCLA and the Bruin family I have been building since Fall. Nonetheless, I am sure I will be all smiles as I reflect on the memories and experiences from my time at UCLA. READ MORE |

What to Order: Pour It UpBy April 27, 2013 - 6:22pm If you’re ever attending a classy function (and no, I’m talking about Tuesday’s Pint Night), you might have encountered a common dilemma: what to order at open bar. Depending on the occasion (wedding, cousin’s birthday, work event, etc), you want to make sure that your choice of drink reflects your personality and makes a good impression on others around you. You also certainly want to make sure that your drink tastes good. If you’re at a work function, you want to be professional and sweet (probably a good time to say no to vodka on the rocks). At the same time, if you’re trying to make a lasting impression (on a potential employer, perhaps), you want to order something original and memorable that will help you stand out.... |

This sounds like a disgusting phenomenon, but if you’re a poor college student without a kitchen, cooking up a meal in your coffee pot doesn’t sound like too bad of an idea. Below are nine simple recipes that you can use right in your own dorm room or studio apartment! Oatmeal: All you need is two packets of instant oatmeal, a spoonful of honey, and 8-10 ounces of water … and BOOM – you’ve got oatmeal. Put the oatmeal and honey into the pot, and allow the water to drip down into it, leaving you with a satisfying bowl of breakfast. Grilled Cheese: No, you aren’t using the actual glass vessel to cook these up. Just use the burner of the coffee pot like a pan. What’s quicker than this?... |

The Juicing CrazeBy March 16, 2013 - 4:47pm The Juicing Craze It first started out slow, but juicing is now the new thing in today’s world of what we call “clean eating.” After all, some of our favorite star role models like Selma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow, Megan Fox, and even Ryan Seacrest have started to partake in this new phenomenon – so why shouldn’t we do it, too? The pros of downing these liquid “detox drinks” are that 1) they give your body a plentiful amount of needed antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins, and 2) they are low in fats, sugars, and salts… All elements of food that we do not wish to consume.
