This past Wednesday, Ellen Degeneres was given the Favorite Humanitarian award as well as Favorite Daytime T.V. show host at the People’s Choice Awards. As expected from the iconic funny-lady, her acceptance speech was filled with her comedic aura, but also pointed to a simple yet significant message – be kind to one another.
“It’s a little strange to actually get an award for being nice, and generous and kind, which is what we’re all supposed to do with one another -that’s the point of being a human,” Ellen said.
While Ellen is known for her success as a day-time talk show personality, she is also widely recognized for her extensive support to various charities, organizations, and individuals in need.
Ellen ended her heartwarming speech by saying “Awards are great, but what makes me happy is making other people happy- and tonight I brought you a shirtless photo of Chris Hemsworth to share.” On the big screen behind her, two giant photos of Hemsworth popped up.
