Every girl loves a reason to get a fierce new outfit, but every girl also understands the struggle of finding the perfect outfit to satisfy her needs. Although sometimes the problem is having no idea what you even want to wear to an event, it’s even more frustrating to have a specific image in your mind of a flawless outfit worthy of Serena van der Woodsen but no idea where to find it. The amount of time it takes to search through every store at the mall or to spend hours browsing the internet to track down that amazing dress is time no collegiette really has – and that’s assuming we find what we’re looking for at all.
Well, good news ladies! The outfit gods have heard our prayers and indulged us with the perfect fashion app to handle all of our shopping struggles – it’s called Donde. (Appropriately named, I might add. After using it, all I could think was, Where have you been all my life?!)
Donde is an app that lets you search for a specific look or clothing item and find results from a ton of popular brands and retailers instantly. You can follow other users and specific brands so their posts show up on your feed, allowing you to always stay updated on the latest trends.
Using the app is so simple and convenient. First, you choose what type of item you’re looking for – dress, shirt, sweater, skirt, bathing suit, or bag. Next, you pick from a ton of different options regarding the details of that specific item. For example, you can pick the color, the pattern, the type of sleeves, the cut, the neckline, and the length. You also have the option to skip making any of the decisions about the item’s details, which will give you a wider range of results. After you choose the specifics, the app will show a ton of images of products matching your search from a wide variety of retailers. The best part – it even highlights which items are on sale!
For example, recently I was searching for the perfect white dress (after having spent hours at the mall, completely unsuccessful). Donde helped me find exactly what I was looking for almost instantly. Here’s a screenshot so you can get a better idea of what the app looks like while using it.
At the top you can see some of the choices I made about the item. For example, it gave me the option to specify the type of neckline I want my dress to have. The bottom shows the search results, which are constantly updated as you choose the details. Don’t be fooled by the screenshot – the app gives you hundreds of results as you keep scrolling down the page! When you find a product you like, just click on the image and you get the option to save the item or buy it right then! If you save an item to your wish list, Donde will send you a notification when that item goes on sale! Could this be any more perfect? #ThankYou
Cara Paley, the VP of Marketing for Donde Fashion, told me a bit about the inspiration for the app. “As an Alumni from the University of Central Florida, I remember how challenging it was for me to find specific outfits for Greek life or any social event. When I needed a particular look, there wasn’t a search I could use that would find me matching results (example: I need a white dress, knee length, and conservative style for sorority initiation). Solving this problem is what drove our CEO, Liat Zakay, to create Donde.” The search for the perfect outfit is something we’ve all suffered through, and that is why this app is never leaving my phone. Ever.

Overview of my favorite things about Donde:
1. I don’t have to move. At all. The perfect outfit is presented to me like a queen and shipped right to my front door.
2. I can find the exact item I’m imagining in my head. No more futile searches online or in stores – Donde will do all the hard work for me and give me more options than I could dream of.
3. The sales practically come to me. If I’m in love with an item I see on the app, it will tell me as soon as the price goes down. Perfect for a girl on a budget!
The app’s official launch is planned for May 25th, and by then Donde will have even more categories and features. You’ll be able to search for shoes, pants, and outerwear, and you’ll also be able to filter by brand. You’ll even be able to shop celeb and fashion blogger looks – ideal for times when you’re desperate for some fashion inspiration!
