Women In Defense of the World’s EcosystemsBy May 6, 2012 - 2:30am All over the world women are willing to fight for what they believe in. From the current situation with the war on women, to protecting delicate environments in which the world’s ecosystems are in danger, they are taking a stand. Women like Jane Goodall (the famous primatologist, whose Disney Film “Chimpanzee” is now in theaters), champion the right for everyone to have a safe environment to live in. This group of fierce individuals, who include: a Nobel Prize laureate, an orangutan expert, and a biologist, have worked very hard to protect our most precious natural resources. Michelle Dilley '13By February 21, 2012 - 10:15pm At first glance you would not suspect that Michelle Dilley is someone who reads neuroscience books for fun. While I interview her, this bubbly junior is getting her costumes ready for Dance Marathon, for which she is a Dancer Captain. This fundraiser is the largest in the West Coast and attracts hundreds of dancers every year who unite to help buy medicine that prevents HIV/AIDS from being transmitted from mother to child. The event consists of 26 hours of dancing, which is a fitting event for a girl who is known for her silly dance moves and motivating optimism and we sat down to learn more about how she does it all.
